Septic Test Pits

The ground is broken! It was exciting to see some actual holes in the ground, even it the holes were filled in after the soil samples were taken. For the septic design we needed soil samples at a few different levels all the way up to nine feet deep. The soil samples get sent away to the lab to determine soil type, and the soil type determines what type of septic system will need to be designed.

The weirdest thing happened when I was out there watching the mini excavator dig the holes. It was about 16 degrees Celsius outside when all of the sudden some cold air blew in and hit me like a wall instantly taking the temperature down to about 6 degrees. Talking with Royall’s Dad he said temperature changes like that are not too uncommon in the area.
